ATF Dragged Over Pride Month Post

The ATF.

In gun circles, you don't need to say more, do you? We all know them, we all despise them. An individual agent might not completely suck as a person, but the agency itself is an absolute trainwreck.

And there's no sign they're remotely interested in getting any better, especially with a director who wants to ban assault weapons but can't tell anyone what an assault weapon actually is.

It's June, though. Kids are out of school. Some are enjoying their graduation. Parents are frazzled because the kids are out of school.

Oh, and it's Pride month, which the ATF couldn't resist jumping on.

They have a "commitment to service?"

Really?

When the hell did that happen?

So far, the only commitment I've seen from them is their commitment to undermining the very fabric of this nation by constantly infringing on the Second Amendment through bureaucratic fiat.

Needless to say that the gun community had a diverse view of this post despite pretty much everyone just dragging them.

Sounds like good advice, really.

What more needs to be said? That one pic sums up a lot of the problems with the ATF in the first place, especially since they clearly haven't learned their lesson.

A fair point.

Oh, that's going to leave a mark.

Now, understand that I don't care who anyone sleeps with so long as they're a consenting adult and that person isn't my wife. Sorry, but a guy has to draw the line somewhere. For the most part, if it doesn't affect me and everyone is old enough to consent and does so, I figure I have no say in the matter.

What I will say, though, is that the ATF is so out of touch that they couldn't foresee this happening, which really tells you everything you need to know about them. They are in charge of regulating firearms, yet they have no idea what gun owners think, feel, or care about. They see no problem with treading on the Constitution itself because the people who care about that generally aren't the people who the ATF is trying to impress.

The ATF's mission would be so much easier if they weren't openly antagonistic toward the gun community. Yet, meanwhile, they're pandering to a political group--and Pride represents a political position in a lot of ways--that the president needs in his camp but that isn't likely to do much to help the ATF in its supposed mission.

Yes, there are LGBT gun owners out there. I know a significant number of them and they're good people who stand ready to defend the Second Amendment with every fiber of their being. I'm pretty sure they don't feel the least bit better about the ATF's post than straight gun owners do.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is our tax dollars at work. Want to know where the $200 for your NFA application goes? Apparently toward crap like this.
