Anti-Gun Voices Fundraise For Harris

While anti-gun advocates claim that theirs is a non-partisan issue, there is an awful lot of partisanship out there. Anti-gun groups tend to rally behind Democrats and have made massive ad buys in battleground districts, sometimes without even mentioning gun control in the least.

Instead, they focused on other issues, particularly when they knew gun control advocacy wouldn't play well there.

But that was in the past.

Democrats tend to believe gun control is a winning issue for them. Anti-gun activists do as well. There's no reason to not stick to the issues that matter to you in a case like that, right?

Well, it seems that isn't meant to be.

Instead, at least some anti-gun voices are fundraising for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris has no gun-control policies – or policies of any kind – currently listed on her campaign website, but she plays an integral role in Joe Biden’s war on guns and gun rights. In the past, she has called for mandatory buybacks of “assault weapons.” This is nothing more than political-speak for forced confiscation of private property by armed agents of the government, which violates the Second, Fourth, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.

The Harris-Walz campaign’s radical anti-gun views have drawn praise and support from other likeminded radicals, especially David Hogg.

Hogg’s anti-gun apparatus is already sending text messages to millions of young people fundraising for Harris and Walz:

Hi, I’m David Hogg, co-founder of March for Our Lives and Leaders We Deserve.

The work to mobilize young people across the country to support Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz is happening right now – not in September or October.

Young voters’ excitement across the internet and in battleground states is palpable, but we must turn this enthusiasm into votes. That means supporting folks on the ground doing the work to highlight the contrast between their hopeful vision for the future, and Trump’s agenda that would take us backward.

I’m determined to do everything I can to ensure Kamala and Tim are elected in November – and I’m asking you to join me.

They’re going to need every single one of us to rise to the challenge. Will you rush a $20 donation to Kamala and Tim’s campaign right now and be part of this historic moment?

Together, we can make a difference.

Note the complete lack of mention of gun control.

Of course, Hogg hasn't relegated himself exclusively to gun control. He's a progressive politically, just one that uses his status as a Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School alumni to prop him up as an expert on the issues of guns.

Granted, he's never had an original thought on the topic, but still...

He also founded Leaders We Deserve which supposedly identifies and helps young progressives running for office. Since I'm not exactly considered young and both Harris and Gov. Tim Walz are older than me, I'm at a loss as to why he's using his organization's resources like this.

And again, there's no official position on guns from the Harris/Walz campaign.

We know what she wants to do based on her past, even if she's now trying to distance herself a bit from that.

Let's also understand that what we've seen from Hogg is likely only the start. I fully expect to see ad buys from Everytown, Brady, and Giffords that focus on issues like abortion, immigration, crime, racism, and anything but gun control as they do everything they can to get their ally into the White House, even as they know a lot of people disagree with their anti-Second Amendment position.

November is going to be interesting, to say the least.
