Gun folks know plenty of other gun folks. We often know what our friends like to carry, how they carry, and if they have a backup gun. At least in my experience, most just carry their main gun and a spare magazine or two. They've run their daily carry firearm enough to trust it with their life, so why would they carry another?

A handful do carry a backup for various reasons.

But over at Daily Kos, a community member says they spoke with someone who carried, and what this person learned was absolutely shocking!

I was  told  something last night that sent chills down my spine.   Trusted ...very trusted sources  were talking about the momentum with  the democratic ticket and what if Trump loses which just may happen if he doesn’t  figure out a way to steal at the ballot box.   

I knew this but not to this extent.  Not even close.   It may be this way in other states as well.

I was told that these jerks have guns not just in their possession at all times but  multiple firearms in their cars, in their homes within reach in many areas of the house, They have guns in their pockets, behind their backs, in pocketbooks, and easy access wherever they are.  They have THAT  many guns.  At all times,

I don’t know about you but a walking war machine scares the hell out of me.  I don’t know what I was thinking… I guess I knew they carried in their cars or house and openly but I did not know that they were armed to the teeth?   Why?  Are they afraid of the dems that much or are they afraid WE ARE the enemy and any little movement out of line and bang ...Outta here.

This has become as bad if not worse than the old west.

So, according to her "trusted sources," we're all walking around with multiple guns on our person, in our vehicles, and everywhere. When we disarm, it's like that scene in every action comedy where someone takes ten minutes to drop all of their weapons.

Absolutely hilarious.

Of course, I find it funny that after four years of being told that there was no way an election could be stolen that one of these nutbars is worried about the election being stolen.

My guess here is that these "trusted sources" either don't exist or don't know what they're talking about. She was "told that these jerks"--we're jerks, you see, because we won't let them take our guns from us--have arsenals on their persons at all time, and she dutifully reports this to her fellow Daily Kos members as the absolute truth, without bothering to actually ponder this for a moment.

She also doesn't believe we'll adhere to the gun-free zone signs, which I find rather ironic considering I have no doubt she favors gun-free zones.

This is the insane alarmism anti-gunners possess. Even if we all carried a dozen guns at one time, so what? How many can we shoot at one time? How many can we accurately shoot? Pretty much every gun person knows you can't pull a Matrix and shoot two AR-15s/M-16s at a time while spinning through the air. That's not how it works. If it did, the military would spend a lot of money to make our troops even more deadly. They don't.

I read that bit and laughed until I think I sprained something, in part because of the breathless horror that we might have not just a gun but multiples close at hand and not in case of a mass shooting or some more pedestrian version of violent crime, but because we are "afraid of the dems that much" or something.

This is who we're up against.

The fact that we're not gaining ground against this kind of inane babble is baffling to me.
