The DNC is in Chicago, which means tons of delegates have descended upon the Windy City. Most of them support gun control, such as the numerous measures enacted in states like Illinois.

What's more, if you walk around and talk to them, they'll tell you that gun control works.

Well, there's one who might feel a tad differently today.

You see, there's a group of people who may realize that there are over 4,000 delegates in town and that they might have money, valuables, or other goods that are worth stealing. Whether they do or not remains to be seen, but at least one delegate is aware of that group now.

A member of the Texas Democratic Delegation was robbed at gunpoint during the party's national convention, according to a report.

The victim, 25, was walking in downtown Chicago at 2 a.m. CT on Wednesday morning during the DNC when a dark blue Land Rover Discovery pulled up alongside and armed men in ski masks got out.

The attackers also took the delegate's room keys, then crossed the street to rob someone else.

The men were armed with handguns and threatened to kill the victims as they handed over their cell phones and wallets, according to Chicago police. 

The suspects are believed to have been involved in a string of robberies across the city, DailyMail.com has confirmed. 

Nah, that can't be.

Chicago is in Illinois which, as I noted previously, has a ton of gun control. Bad guys couldn't possibly have firearms. I mean, you need a FOID just to lawfully own one. Surely it should be easy to round up the miscreants because of that, right?

Oh, wait...criminals don't have FOID cards. 

“This is an object lesson for the Democrats,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, commenting on the incident. “Their efforts to disarm law-abiding citizens while promoting a soft-on-crime agenda have been a massive failure and this incident proves it. They want to make it difficult for honest citizens to own and carry guns, while they have been unwilling and unable to keep guns out of criminal hands, especially in crime centers such as Chicago, which—no surprise here—has been run by Democrats for decades.

Gottlieb also noted that the Secret Service warned delegates to remove their name badges because there'd been a rash of robberies.

He added, “Democrat policies have allowed repeat offenders to escape jail time and continue robbing people. We’re glad nobody was hurt, but this should send a signal to Democrats about their misguided gun control and soft-on-crime efforts. The experiment has failed and it is time to try something different. But, since we’re talking about the party of gun prohibition, Democrats appear to be stuck on stupid, which is why bad guys roam the streets and good guys literally pay the price.”

I agree with every word.

Gun control was supposed to turn Chicago into a Utopia--and it's been Chicago voters driving this, make no mistake. Yet for all that, it hasn't done any such thing, and last night, in the aftermath of this particular robbery, the Democratic Party went hog wild on gun control, despite the evidence of its abject failure right there for all to see.

Does anyone wonder why that didn't happen at the RNC?

Maybe because the bad guys figured there was a better than even chance the delegate would be armed?
