Dallas ICE Shooter's Mother Is Staunch Anti-Gunner

We know that the man who opened fire at a Dallas ICE facility, killing one detainee and wounding two others, was a deranged leftist who thought he was fighting ICE. That's pretty clear from what we've seen, though, of course, some people are trying to deny it. Whatever.

However, I'm curious how those who claimed that Charlie Kirk's alleged killer is on the right, since his family is conservative, will view this new shooting. I mean, they ignore what authorities have released that explicitly state his motives, which isn't exactly about political conservatism, and focus on his family, so now we've got another killer, and they can't do that this time.

After all, this twerp's mother was definitely not MAGA.

The mother of the man who police say killed a migrant at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement center in Dallas and then took his own life Wednesday is an outspoken advocate of stricter gun laws and a frequent critic of Republican leaders, The Daily Mail reported.

Sharon Jahn has maintained an active social-media presence and followed progressive figures such as Vice President Kamala Harris and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and accounts tied to the Democratic Socialists of America, according to the report.

Police say Joshua Jahn opened fire from a nearby roof onto an ICE location in Dallas, killing a detainee and critically wounding two other people.

In the wake of the 2022 Uvalde, Texas, massacre, Sharon Jahn posted a blistering message on Facebook criticizing Texas leaders such as GOP Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn for supporting looser gun restrictions.

“Governor [Greg] Abbott, Senator Cornyn and Senator Cruz how does it make you feel that your action to open up gun laws is responsible for the killing of 21 more people?” she wrote, accusing the officials of putting “money over people” and taking “blood money” from the gun lobby, the Daily Mail reported.

Now, let's understand, I'm not about to accuse his mother of being responsible for his actions. Yes, she may have planted the seeds of his politics and may have engaged in some extreme rhetoric--or not, because we don't know one way or another--but it was still this twerp's decision to open fire.

But it's interesting that she was so vehemently anti-gun, and her son used a firearm in an act of domestic terrorism.

It's unclear if he lived at home or not, though at age 29, one would imagine he didn't, but these days you can't make that assumption.

If he did, I wonder how she felt about him having a firearm in the house. Even if he lived elsewhere, was she aware of the gun? If so, what did she say or think about it? Would she have approved if she'd known what his plan was?

Quotes from both parents show them to be distraught, for what it's worth.

Clearly, whatever her views on guns, her son didn't internalize all of them. Then again, many anti-gunners are really anti-gun for everyone but themselves and theirs. They're fine with their own gun ownership; it's everyone else who needs to be treated with suspicion. Maybe that played a factor here.

I honestly don't know, nor do I care.

The twerp is dead, so we won't have a trial, and a person who didn't deserve it was murdered by someone who thought he was trying to help, but was too incompetent to do anything except screw up.
