What Virginia's Anti-Gun Jihad Really Means

As Cam noted on Thursday, Virginia is now one step closer to becoming one of the most anti-gun states in the nation, and in the span of just a few months. While the approved measures aren't quite as bad as the early versions, they're bad enough.

This follows as Virginia also redrew its district lines into one that pushes out every single Republican district except for one, which seems to be so ridiculously Republican that they couldn't have drawn it away if they wanted.

So, what does all of this mean?

Let's start with a comment from former Virginia Delegate Nick Freitas.

That's really what we have here.

Anti-gun Democrats are so convinced that they hold all the power now that they've started unraveling anything that might give the illusion that Republicans even exist in the state.

Yes, part of that is the gun control. That's high up on the agenda for any anti-gun Democratic majority, and it'll absolutely happen the next time they get enough authority at the federal level.

While Republicans aren't exactly tripping over themselves to engage in bipartisanship, the reality is that anti-gun Democrats routinely walk in and start legislating away people's gun rights, absolutely sure that they'll hold a permanent majority.

Keep in mind that all of these actions come in the wake of an election that, while not exactly whisker-close, was still far from a massive landslide. Despite that, they've just redistricted away Republican districts and made Virginia more blue, with regard to congressional delegations, than New York, California, or New Jersey.

Think about that.

What's more, despite a nearly even split between the parties, the actions taken by Virginia seek to override the will of the people at the federal level with regard to issues like gun control there.

Instead of the current makeup, 90 percent of the House delegation from the state will be made up of anti-gunners, and we all know it. Yet, despite that, lawmakers claimed this was fair.

I have a friend who keeps reminding me that when these people say they're protecting democracy, what they mean is that they're trying to protect rule by Democrats. Considering the rampage over people's rights in the Old Dominion State, both essentially disenfranchising many voters and trampling on their gun rights, it's hard to say he's wrong.

If anything, the stakes for the midterms are now higher than ever. It's vital that, despite missteps by the Trump administration, we turn out and make absolutely sure that these shenanigans don't allow the anti-gunners to gain control of Congress. Yeah, Trump can veto, and likely will, but he's a one-term president, for all practical purposes. We know there will be someone else there after 2028, though we can't say for certain just who that will be.

We can't let it be another anti-gunner like Biden or Obama, especially with the games anti-gun politicians are playing.

What's happening in Virginia isn't a state issue. It's a national issue, and our rights hinge on how we respond to it.

Editor’s Note: The radical left will stop at nothing to enact their radical gun control agenda and strip us of our Second Amendment rights.
