David Hogg Blames Puerto Vallarta Violence On US

What happened in Puerto Vallarta over the weekend was really concerning. This is supposedly one of the safest urban areas in all of Mexico, and that illusion was shattered in a single day.

The Mexican government finally did something about one of the cartels, and then this happened. Moreover, they allowed this to happen by not acting sooner, at least in my opinion.

But do you know who has thoughts? Old David Hogg.

He has thoughts on who is really responsible.

Luckily, Hogg's claim--a similar one to what then-President Barack Obama spouted before everyone knew about Fast and Furious--was quickly debunked, and leave it to Fenix Ammunition to put it...how shall I say...bluntly. Apologies in advance for the language.

That put it about as succinctly as possible.

Yeah, that was 90 percent of the traced guns even back then, which was convenient considering that most guns weren't traced at all back in the day. Today, we're seeing a lot more going on.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that anyone would believe that a multi-billion-dollar criminal enterprise would have absolutely no way to get guns beyond smuggling them from a neighboring country. Nope. There are no illicit arms dealers who would be happy to meet their firearm needs regardless of Mexican or even American laws.

Nope. That never happens. All those African warlords get their guns from the US, too, I bet.

Honestly, a Harvard education isn't what it used to be, is it? Then again, when you were a state college reject who suddenly got into one of the most prestigious institutions in the country, it kind of devalues the whole thing. Imagine going to Harvard because that was literally the only college that would take you.

Anyway, Hogg is a moron, which is typical enough. This isn't breaking news.

However, what's worth noting--something Hogg will never acknowledge--is that the regular people of Puerto Vallarta, who just wanted to be left alone to live their lives, were powerless to fight back on behalf of their own community. The Mexican government makes it virtually impossible for anyone to buy a gun lawfully, and even then, they restrict them to a pretty high degree, which means that they are disarmed.

When the cartel showed up to get rowdy, they couldn't do anything except keep their heads down.

There are few things worse in life than feeling powerless in the face of evil, and that's what the people of Puerto Vallarta experienced this weekend. Hogg would have you believe that without American gun laws, this wouldn't have happened.

Without Mexican gun laws, though, the cartels would have been put in their place years ago, before they became powerful enough to actually become this kind of problem in the first place.
