NRA Launches 'Be Ready' Campaign Following Terrorist Attacks

If there's one thing we should be well aware of as Americans at this point, it's that not every terrorist attack has to be 9/11. That day was truly awful and will live in my nightmares forever, and I just watched that crap on television. I can't even imagine what those who survived it went through.

Just this year, though, we've seen three separate terrorist attacks, all since the United States began its bombing campaign against Iran. From Austin to Old Dominion University to Michigan, individual jihadists have decided to try to take as many people with them as they seek their 72 virgins.

And as it doesn't seem as if we're stepping off the gas on Iran anytime soon, there's every reason to believe that we'll see more attacks down the road.

That's probably why the NRA has launched its latest campaign.

The National Rifle Association launched a new advertising campaign called “BE READY,” which urges law-abiding Americans to safely and responsibly exercise their Second Amendment rights in the face of escalating dangers.

...

Recent incidents include deadly shootings at a bar in Austin, Texas, an attack at Old Dominion University in Virginia, and the targeted vehicle-ramming assault on a synagogue in Michigan.

The “BE READY” campaign, the NRA said, highlights the vital need for personal protection in an increasingly uncertain world and offers glaring imagery and real-world examples.

The ad calls on Americans to carry responsibly and stay vigilant, while telling viewers that the right to self-defense is not just a privilege but a fundamental necessity.

“As threats to our safety multiply — from terror cells and radicalized attackers to violent criminals set loose by lenient policies — innocent, law-abiding citizens face increased dangers on all fronts,” said NRA CEO Doug Hamlin.

“While these threats escalate, as we’ve tragically seen in recent attacks in Texas, Virginia, Michigan, and beyond, progressive politicians continue pushing agendas to disarm us, stripping away our ability to defend our families and communities.”

There will be some of the usual suspects who will absolutely lose their minds over this, likely venting in X posts that cut off replies because they can't handle criticism (Looking at you, Giffords), but the reality is that this is the responsible course of action.

Police officers responded very quickly to the Austin attack, after all, and it still wasn't fast enough to stop the bloodshed. That's where a good guy with a gun steps in.

Yeah, yeah, the ROTC cadets managed to take down the bad guy without one. How many of us are currently fit, in our late teens or early 20s, and undergoing training to lead men into battle? This was the wrong room for this jihadi to try and mess with, but that's not the room all of us are going to find ourselves in on a regular basis. Enter the lawful carry of firearms.

Especially since I'm sure the cadets wished they'd had guns.

Regardless, being ready, especially now, is just common sense. We have no idea what kind of targets these monsters will attack, nor what form the attack will take. The best we can do is to be ready if the moment comes, should we be unfortunate enough for it to come.
