This Is Why Blaming Glock is Idiotic

Anti-gun states are picking on companies like Glock, trying to ban their firearms, all because of the actions of some vile pieces of crap that are running around the streets of their cities. They're turning the guns into full-auto with an aftermarket device, and they're blaming companies like Glock for somehow being responsible.

But that's stupid, and it's always been stupid. Why? Because they're blaming the wrong people for everything.

First, the issue is that these conversions are illegal under federal law, so the turdnuggets causing problems and converting their guns are criminals. The main onus falls on them for being criminals in the first place.

Second, these things weren't developed by Glock, and they're not sold by Glock, either.

A recent arrest illustrates this pretty well.

Two Richmond County men are headed to federal prison after investigators uncovered an illegal scheme involving machinegun conversion devices shipped from overseas.

Jafere Deshon Elliott, 23, and Korbynn Jevon Jackson, 23, both of Augusta, were sentenced to 48 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to Illegal Importation of Firearms or Ammunition and Illegal Possession of a Machinegun. Each man must also pay a $2,000 fine and will serve three years of supervised release once their prison terms end. There is no parole in the federal system.

Federal investigators say the case began in early 2024 when U.S. Customs and Border Protection intercepted a package from China containing 13 machinegun conversion devices headed to an Augusta apartment.

China. Shocking, ain't it?

For all of the rhetoric in Chinese state-run media about how we're abusing people's human rights by not restricting guns, the truth is that China is funneling these devices into the United States. My more conspiratorial mind says they're doing it to create discord and instability in their biggest rival on the world stage, and to disarm the population in case they decide to try to invade the mainland US.

Admiral Yamamoto might not have actually said that bit about "a rifle behind every blade of grass," but the sentiment was correct. It's in China's interests to eliminate that threat if at all possible, preferably before the first boot sets foot on American shores.

But I've been told that's just crazy talk.

Regardless, this is where every one of these shipments seems to come from, at least based on the numerous reports I've seen over the years. Sure, some are homegrown, but a lot of them come from China, and they don't seem to be all that worried about the death and destruction that results, even as their propaganda machine churns out alleged op-eds denouncing gun rights as somehow antithetical to human rights.

Now, I ask you, how are the actions of a nation that many consider the only other superpower besides the United States, the fault of Glock, much less of any other manufacturer of striker-fired handguns that can be equipped with these switches?

Any rational reading of the situation would make it clear that our issues are the result of Chinese companies, likely with at least the blessing of the Chinese government, and not the Austrian company that not only created the most popular handgun for law enforcement purposes, but that also employs hundreds of Americans.

Of course, anti-gunners aren't rational. They're not so much worried about the full-auto components as they are with trying to restrict a popular and relatively affordable firearm and many of its contemporaries, and they're just using the switches as an excuse.

It's idiotic and moronic, but that's gun control in a nutshell.

At least, that's gun control if you believe everyone pushing it actually means what they say.

I'm curious just how much Chinese money has been funneled through certain people to fund these campaigns. I bet it's more than anti-gunners will ever acknowledge.
