Why Gun Control Activists Can't Praise Idaho Armed Citizen

Gun control advocates claim they're not opposed to gun ownership, so long as gun owners are "trained and responsible." So why won't any of them praise the trained and responsible armed citizen who helped stop a mass shooting in Idaho last weekend?
