Biography
I was raised in a family that was against firearms. I handled my first firearm at 18 at an indoor range with some friends who found it rather humorous to have me shoot a 1911 in 45acp (thus beginning my love for 1911s). Unfortunately, I didn't get to shoot again for almost 10 years. I started shooting occasionally with friends, working on learning the fundamentals. I was offered an opportunity to work part-time at a gun shop and I jumped at it, needing to feed my growing fascination with everything that goes bang when you pull the trigger. Working at the shop I was invited to shoot my first match, Nov. 2011, and after shooting that match I was hooked.
I currently shoot IDPA, USPSA, and 3-Gun. I shoot anywhere between 10-15 major matches a year, traveling nationally and internationally to compete and work as a certified Safety Officer. At the 2013 IDPA National Championship I finished as the highest ranked female with a 1911 in .45 ACP.
