A 56-year old Washington homeowner heard a knock on his door and went to answer. When he failed to recognize the man standing outside–he ignored him and went away from the door. A few moments later, the suspect through an object through the door, shattering the glass. The homeowner immediately retrieved his gun and after a brief struggle, fired the gun twice, striking the invader in the shoulder.

A passing by delivery driver heard the gunshots and called 911. Police detained the suspect and transported him to a local hospital where he is being treated for his wounds. Authorities say the homeowner will not be charged with a crime, and acted in self-defense.
