Amateur Gunsmithing Nearly Costs Competitive Shooter Her Life

This is the story of the accidental shooting (not a negligent shooting) of USPSA shooter Cameon Eisenzimmer during a training class. She was not touching the gun when it went off in her holster. It is believed that modifications made by an amateur gunsmith and fellow USPSA competitor when he owned the gun led to the shooting, which nearly led to Ms. Eisenzimmer losing not just her leg, but her life.

She is alive today because a student in that class was equipped with a tourniquet. If you have a firearm on you, you should have a tourniquet on you. Period.
