There are breaking reports that someone in a vehicle attempted to breach a security barrier near the White House, and then led security on a high speed chase before there were a number of shots fired and the driver was taken into custody near the Capitol Building.

Bearing Arms will update as facts can be confirmed.

4:00 Update: The incident is now over. A police officer was injured during a collision during the chase of a woman driving a black sedan that was chased by various police agencies. She was apparently shot at the end of the chase. Her condition is currently unknown.

4:20 Update: The woman driving the car was killed. The only shots fired appear to have come from the police.

A small child was removed from the car, terrified, but apparently uninjured.
