An armed home intruder was shot and killed in North Carolina Sunday morning after discovering his intended victim was no victim at all.
Officers responded to a call reporting a home invasion at a residence in the 1700 block of Candlewood Court in High Point, NC. shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
The High Point Department confirmed three men forced their way into the house and, upon discovering the intruders, a man inside the home armed himself for protection. The suspects exchanged gunfire with the man who shot and killed one of the intruders.
High Point Police Capt. Tim Ellenberger said the three men kicked in the door of the house and started shouting, “Where’s the money; where’s the money?”
Ellenberger confirmed the armed man who engaged the home intruders in gunfire is the boyfriend of the homeowner and said he does not believe the incident was random.
Police are continuing their investigation of the home invasion and shooting.
