I do not like the Chinese government, and I honestly don't care what anyone says about it. I'm sure many of the people are absolutely lovely and, from everything I've seen, it's a beautiful country, but it's run by commies who, I believe, are committed to destabilizing the United States and the West via whatever means they can.
Yes, that's my personal conspiracy theory, but nothing I've seen has suggested I'm wrong here.
However, I need to be clear that I don't believe for an instant that China is just focused on us. Oh no, all Western nations are in the crosshairs, including the United Kingdom.
Sure, guns are tightly restricted there, so funneling auto-sears there won't accomplish much, but a man in the UK is in trouble over what he did get from China.
Mohib Shah, 22, of Willow Drive, Nelson, appeared at Burnley Crown Court after admitting a series of weapons offences, including possession of a flick knife and two stun guns, as well as possession with intent to transfer.
He also admitted breaching a previously imposed suspended sentence.
The case came to light after customs intercepted a package from China addressed to Shah, containing stun guns and knuckle dusters.
A related police investigation led officers to his home on April 23, where they were allowed entry by his mother.
During the search, police found two boxes containing gun-shaped stun devices in Shah's bedroom.
A trained Taser officer examined the items and confirmed they appeared to be working.
Now, let's just say that it's ridiculous that stun guns are so tightly regulated in the U.K., considering they have kids getting stabbed, then handcuffed by the police simply because the killer claimed the kid said unkind things to him, among other offenses taking place every day.
That said, it's against the law, and importing them is illegal.
China also restricts stun guns domestically. You can have one, but getting one is harder than getting a gun license in our most anti-gun states. It's not something you can just buy and carry for personal protection.
But the Chinese government, which maintains such tight control over so many aspects of Chinese life and business, sees nothing wrong with exporting goods that are illegal in the nation they're being sent to. If this were some free nation where these aren't regulated at all, I might chalk it up to the government genuinely being unable to prevent export. For example, it's illegal for an American company to export a stun gun to someone like Shah, though I won't say that no one would do it. However, despite the law, the United States generally allows businesses to police themselves unless they're given some reason to look deeper.
China, on the other hand, owns a massive chunk of many private concerns, and has tight regulations on everyone else, so I'm not buying that this was an accident. Someone knew what they were doing and did it anyway.
Yes, the U.K. is dumb for making it impossible for good people to protect themselves from hostile aggression, but they're even dumber than I thought if they don't see this as happening with at least the tacit approval of the Chinese government.
