Woman Shoot, Kills Domestic Violence Attacker in Indiana

Supporters of gun control run from one failed plot to another in an attempt to infringe on your right to bear arms, and one of the latest scams is an attempt portray their attack on the Second Amendment as “domestic violence prevention.” According to their new narrative, we need to push gun control, because if we don’t, men will end up shooting their wives/girlfriends/children in fits of rage.

That gun owners are always prone to fits of rage in their imagined stories says a lot about Moms Demand Action and the other gun control groups pitching that narrative, but it is nothing more than fantasy.

Here in reality, firearms are an equalizer, and have been since they were invented. They give individuals a chance against groups, and the weak a chance of surviving against opponents that might be younger, bigger, faster, stronger, and more aggressive.

That fact was readily apparent in Speedway, Indiana, this week, as a woman who doesn’t live all that far from gun control fanatic Shannon Watts used her handgun to defend her life against a domestic abuser:

Police say a woman fatally shot her ex-boyfriend when he barged into her Speedway apartment early Wednesday morning.

Speedway Police Department Lt. Trent Theobald says the woman called 911 around 4:18 a.m. saying her ex-boyfriend was beating in her front door and she had a gun and feared for her life. She had two young children inside the apartment in the 5800 block of West 25th Street.

“She called 911 to let us know she heard the door being kicked in so obviously she was in fear of her life, especially knowing we’d had previous domestic runs at this apartment before, and she did have a gun in the apartment and fatally wounded her ex-boyfriend,” said Theobald.

The woman fired once and killed the man after he made his way into the front room of the apartment. He died at the scene.

You’ll note that the woman was defending not only her own life against this violent ex-boyfriend, but the lives of her two minor children. These are the survivors that Shannon Watts and her ilk would rather not see.

In “Watts’ World,” guns are something that only your Bloomberg-provided bodyguards should be carrying as they shuttle you around from one group of pasty-white liberals to another in your armored SUV. They are not something that minorities or women should be allowed to have to defend their lives against random violent strangers nor domestic abusers.

We’re far more honest on this side of the equation. We readily admit that bad people will use any weapon at their disposal to do bad things. But we also recognize that weapon is just a tool, and a weapon—particularly a firearm—give people like the intended victim in this situation a fighting chance against a violent man who might have otherwise easily murdered her with his bare hands or a weapon of his own.

The attacker was later identified as Anthony Santura Smith, and the police had responded to multiple domestic violence complaints involving him in the past. His intended victim, who has not been named, will now be freed from his constant terrorism, as will her children.

In the right hands, guns save lives.

This is a fact that gun control cultists simply refuses to admit.
