Memphis Robber Discovers That Two-Way Shootings Are Less Fun

One or more of three would-be robbers shot into a car in Memphis early Wednesday morning, and were more than a little surprised that the victim they hit fought back with a gun of his own, and started making hits.

A 16-year-old suspect in an attempted robbery and shooting is dead after being shot by one of his alleged victims.

Police say two people were sitting in a car outside a house in the 1700 block of Denison St. around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, when three men came up and tried to rob them.

The suspects fired shots into the car hitting the male victim in the side.

Police say he was able to return fire hitting the 16-year-old suspect in the chest.

The suspect was taken to his mother’s house by the two other suspects.

Police say his mother then drove him to Delta Medical Center.

He was then transferred to the Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The robbery victim who returned fire is expected to recover the shooting. It seems plausible that he might not have if he hadn’t started putting bullets downrange and ruining the robbers’ attempt to murder him for little or no reason.
