Update III:
According to a report from CNN, before murdering two people at a Kentucky Kroger in Jeffersontown, the shooter tried to enter a predominantly black church. After failing to do so because the doors were locked, the murderer shot and killed an individual in the Kroger grocery store before shooting and killing another individual in the parking lot. Both victims were African American.
A bystander with a legal conceal-carry permit engaged the shooter, forcing the shooter to leave the scene.
The suspect was apprehended nearby.

Anchor and reporter Fallon Glick of WDRB has tweeted a statement she received from Kroger regarding the shooting in Jeffersontown.
Kroger’s statement reads:
We are shocked and saddened by the shooting incident that occurred around 2:30 pm today.
Thanks to the quick response of the local police department, the suspect was apprehended and our store is secure.
We are cooperating with law enforcement and assisting with their investigation.
We are referring all other questions to law enforcement.

ATF Lousiville is also responding to the scene of the shooting, and WDRB anchor Elizabeth Woolsey is reporting that an individual was taken to the University of Louisville hospital. Their condition is unknown.

Update I:
According to a report from WDRB 41 Louisville News, the shooting started just before 3 p.m. A witness on the scene told WDRB that the shooting appeared to be a shootout between two individuals. An elderly woman was caught in the crossfire.
WDRB’s Valerie Chinn reportedly told her newsroom that she could see the body of one victim. In a tweet, she added that she was able to interview an EMT who was shopping in the store when the shooting began. The man tried to perform CPR on the woman who was shot but said that she has died.

The number of people injured and the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.
Reports are saying that officers are still on the scene and that the shooting suspect is in police custody.
