Man Bound and Assaulted by Robbers Gets Free and Shoots

A man in Maple Valley, Washington, was relaxing with a friend when multiple robbers broke in and held him captive, binding and assaulting him. During the robber, however, the man was able to get free and grab his handgun, which he used to fire at and drive out the robbers. Here’s the story:

Maple Valley—A team of home invasion robbers victimized a 38 year old Maple Valley man on August 13, 2013 stealing several guns, drugs, and money. The victim shot at the suspects before they could leave. Two people received treatment at area hospitals for apparent gunshot wounds.
The Maple Valley man was at his house when a friend of his came over. Immediately thereafter, suspects entered the house, bound the man, and assaulted him. The suspects cleared out the victim’s open safe of several guns (mostly shotguns and rifles), drugs, and money before leaving the home.

The victim broke free of the restraints, armed himself, and went outside. The homeowner fired a handgun at the suspects before they fled in vehicles through the streets of Maple Valley. Witnesses reported seeing guns being thrown out of a fleeing vehicle along a busy Maple Valley road.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was dropped off at a Maple Valley 7-11 store with an apparent gunshot wound to the face. A second person drove herself to an area hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to the buttocks. Those people are believed to be involved with the home invasion robbery in some capacity.
