While most of my weekend was spent with my family, a little doing some woodworking, and mostly just trying to relax, there was still plenty of time to jump on X and talk about the US bombing Iran back into the stone age. So, we bombed them back to about eight minutes before.
Anyway, Iran has been a key part in the rise of Islamic terrorism throughout the world. They've had their grubby little paws on everything from the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut to the attack on the USS Cole to supporting Al Qaeda throughout GWOT.
So, with us bombing Iran, it didn't take much of terrorist sympathizers to decide they needed to do a little something themselves, which appears to be what was behind the attack on a bar in Austin, Texas, that left two innocent people dead and 14 wounded.
A new photo has emerged of the gunman who police say killed two people and wounded 14 at a bar in Austin, Texas.
The gunman, who was shot and killed by police, was wearing a sweatshirt that said "Property of Allah" during the attack, according to two sources familiar with the investigation. The description matches a photo obtained by Fox News that appears to show the gunman carrying a long gun.
There were indicators on the suspect and in his vehicle that suggest a "potential nexus to terrorism," FBI Acting Special Agent Alex Doran said during a briefing Sunday, though he cautioned that it was too early to determine the motive.
Officials executed a search warrant at the gunman's home on Sunday and found an Iranian flag and pictures of Iranian leaders, according to an official with direct knowledge of the investigation. Sources told CBS News that the Quran was found in the gunman's vehicle.
...Investigators believe the gunman acted alone. Police say he had a handgun and a rifle during the attack.
Two law enforcement sources told CBS News that investigators say the shooter had had prior mental health episodes in Austin. They are looking at whether the shooter was influenced by extremist ideology and if there is a nexus to international terrorism, but cautioned that the individual had prior mental health issues.
Yes, because the dude with an Iranian flag and pictures of Iranian leaders, who was wearing a hoodie that said "Property of Allah," was clearly an Amish extremist.
I have no doubt he had some mental health issues, mind you, but that doesn't preclude him from being a terrorist. It seems pretty damn obvious that he was, especially considering the timing of this attack took place while bombs were dropping on the exact same country he had flags and pictures of leaders from.
However, the heroes in this one are the police.
Austin Police responded to the mass shooting in 57 seconds.

This police department doesn’t get enough credit.
The liberal district attorney‘s office has given this department a beating when it comes to seeking justice.
Great work by APD.
Assuming the former Newsmax and Fox News reporter is correct, that's an incredibly fast response.
It seems the bar in question is in a part of Austin known for fights on the weekends, so there was likely an increased police presence in the area already, which made response time even faster.
Which is good, because as this was a bar, it's not like anyone inside could carry a gun lawfully. Texas is good on a lot of gun laws, but like too many other states, they prohibit people from carrying a gun in a bar, even if they're not drinking.
Of course, the usual suspects ignored that little tidbit and instead simply attacked gun rights.
For example, Rep. Lloyd Doggett, who represents Austin in Congress.
Gun violence is preventable. This devastating loss of life was preventable. Until Republicans find the courage to say no to the NRA, our country will be plagued with more tragedies.

Thanks to law enforcement for their swift response, which undoubtedly saved lives.
This is a man who had better not ever go on and blame anyone for trying to make a situation political by going on the pro-gun attack. This is beyond disgusting.
But he was far from the only one who jumped on that particular bandwagon.
I am heartbroken by the shooting in Austin, Texas, where a night out on Sixth Street ended in violence.

My heart is with the victims, the survivors, and their loved ones. Americans deserve to feel safe in their own communities. Safety is not a privilege — it is a right. It is time for our leaders to show courage, take responsibility, and build safer communities where every family can live without fear.
I may get into this later today, but the truth is that "safety" isn't a right, if for no other reason than it cannot be guaranteed by any government. The only way they could do any such thing would be to strip you of literally every other right, keep you in a cocoon, and never let you do anything. That's safe, but it also means you can't live.
Life has been shown to cause death in laboratory animals, as one of my instructors in the Navy used to say. Thanks, Petty Officer Sowards.
Anyway, we also have the Democrats' apparently chosen Senate candidate there in Texas weighing in, if such a lightweight can be said to be weighing in.
America is praying for Austin.

But there is something profoundly cynical about asking God to solve a problem we're not willing to solve ourselves.
God moves and works through us. God has no other hands but our hands.
We must act. pic.twitter.com/H2bbjjCZmz
Of course, while Talarico never expressly mentions gun control, we all know what he's hinting at.
Never let an anti-gunner try to tell you they don't get a little bit of a tingle in their no-no places when they see a shooting like this take place. They do, because they see it as an opportunity, even if they hate everything else about what happened.
We've got a terrorist attack carried out by an immigrant who appears to have overstayed a tourist visa, but got a green card during the Obama administration--not unlike the Boston Marathon bombers, to be clear--who carried out an attack on a gun-free zone in the midst of ongoing airstrikes against a country he fanboyed over, but the answer is for us to give up our rights.
Sure.
Just as soon as my pet unicorn gets here from Amazon.
Editor’s Note: The radical left will stop at nothing to enact their radical gun control agenda and strip us of our Second Amendment rights.
